finally done with this new sketchbook for 2008! feels good to be done with it and
onto other things. i wish i had more time to finesse but maybe i’ll learn to start earlier next time. ha!

i decided to go with a more flat tone style because i was worried about the printing. turns out i had nothing to
worry about at all. the printer did a fantastic job. if anyone wants to print a book for cheap check these guys out.

they did a decent job. give yourself slightly more time that they say it will take and
you’ll save yourself some worry. that probably goes for any printing job. heh.

i know lots of talented artist who have full time jobs and families. on top of all that they are pumping out work on the side and filling up their blogs with incredible artwork. on the other end of the spectrum is where i find myself, desperately trying to keep pace. i’ve got to perfect the ability to keep one eye on the telly and the other on the drawing board.
this site is also in major need of tlc.
anyhoo, here are some more drawings for my sketchbook. i did some rough drawings in alias sketchbook pro on my tablet pc and then imported them into my desktop where i refined just a bit in mirage (a cool little program that i do most of my storboarding work in). if you’re interested in that, also look at tvpaint (same program but with further refinement/versions)

with the 2008 comic con coming up and some kind of press for the clone wars series i figure i may as well do something
while i’m down there. it’s been awhile since i did a book so here we go. a bunch of folks at the studio are pitching in for a table so i gotta do something.
don’t know if this is the final look, i’m still exploring. i do want to stay on the sketchy side though..

recently took some photos at the Maverixsutdios charity auction for Glide church in San Francisco if you haven’t attended one of these you don’t know how great it is to do a good deed and get some
great art at the same time. did i mention that many pieces went CHEAP?
